To be accepted into the New Jersey Youth ChalleNGe Academy, prospective cadets must meet the following eligibility requirements.
Prospective cadets must volunteer to attend and be physically and mentally capable of completing the program.
16-18 YEARS OF AGE
Male and female applicants must be at least 16 years of age and no older than 18 years of age on the first day of the program.
Prospective cadets must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States. Applicants may reside in any state or territory.
The applicant must be officially withdrawn or transferred from their home high school prior to class start date.
The applicant must not be on parole, probation, or deferred disposition for other than juvenile offenses.
Cadets will be drug-tested while enrolled in the Academy and will be discharged if they test positive for the presence of illegal drugs.
The pre-application form will be reviewed for possible acceptance into the New Jersey Youth ChalleNGe Academy. You may chose to complete our online pre-application or chose to download and complete the PDF version. Please note that completion of this pre-application is for review purposes only and does not guarantee acceptance.
Acceptance will additionally be based upon an interview, meeting the basic eligibility requirements and completion of the official application. You will receive the official application in person when you are interviewed. All applicants will be notified via U.S. mail regarding whether or not they have been accepted into the academy.
